고양이가 집에 있으면 이상하게도 꼭 키보드 위에 올라오죠. 마치 "이건 내 무대야!"라고 말하는 것 같기도 하고, 주인이 제일 집중하는 곳을 방해하는 걸 즐기는 것 같아요. 사실 키보드는 따뜻해서 고양이들이 좋아하기도 하고, 우리가 손을 계속 움직이니 ‘관심을 뺏어올 좋은 장소’라고 생각하는 듯해요.

또 다른 이유는 단순히 우리의 주목을 끌기 위함일 수 있어요. 화면 속 글자보다 자기 자신이 더 중요하다는 걸 강조하려는 거죠. 그래서 중요한 순간일수록 고양이가 더 당당하게 걸어 들어오는 것 아닐까요. 결국 고양이의 눈에는 키보드가 그냥 ‘편한 자리이자 최고의 관심 스팟’일 뿐이에요.

If you have a cat at home, you’ve probably noticed how they love climbing onto the keyboard. It almost feels like they’re saying, “This is my stage!” They seem to enjoy interrupting us right at the moment we’re most focused. Part of the reason might be that keyboards are warm and our moving fingers make it look like the perfect attention-grabbing spot.

Another reason could simply be their way of stealing the spotlight. Cats might just want to remind us that they’re more important than whatever’s on the screen. That’s why they confidently march across the keyboard at the worst possible time. To them, the keyboard is nothing more than a cozy seat and the best place to demand attention.
